What would you hope to accomplish with that? The only thing DNG converter does is take the raw data from your original raw file and repackage it into a dng raw file. Sorry for any hint of cynicism, but after purchasing, upgrading and now paying monthly for using Adobe products since 1994 (well over $15,000 so far), I'm noticing other attractive options out there, in spite of the pain of changing 23 years of work flow habits. Why is Adobe taking this long when it seems other developers (Phase One in particular) are supporting it now? After reading about Adobe's windfall profits after implementing subscription only products, one would think they could be first with the latest and greatest. If Camera Raw can read these profiles and offer them up for selection, why can't that be an option in DNG converter?ģ. Are these camera profiles that Camera Raw is reading specific to the Nikon D850's sensor, or from an earlier model camera like the D810?Ģ. If I Save Image as a DNG file from Camera Raw, that selected camera profile is now (the only one) available once imported into Lightroom.ġ. When using Camera Raw to open the NEF file, I see that the camera profiles are listed there for us to choose. Once the DNG is imported into Lightroom, "Adobe Standard" is the only camera profile option, which is bad at best. When using DNG converter, there is no recognition of the camera model's colour modes: Camera Neutral, Camera Portrait, etc. I photograph paintings for reproduction purposes, and achieving a neutral and linear camera capture is of vital importance to accurate colour reproduction. By the way Capture One now supports the camera! I'm willing to be patient for a bit longer waiting for D850 compatibility.
